11 killed after toxic gas leak in Ludhiana

On Sunday, a gas leak at a factory in Ludhiana, Punjab, killed 11 lives and injured a few more. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other emergency services flocked to the plant, along with a medical team and a fire brigade.



Police stated that the area has been shut off while a fire brigade and an ambulance have been sent to the scene. The source of the leak and the type of gas have not yet been determined.


Nine persons have already lost their lives in the event, according to Mandeep Singh Sidhu, the police commissioner in Ludhiana. Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, a Ludhiana South MLA for the Aam Aadmi Party, called the incident regrettable.
