Car of the month - October 2022 Skoda Kodiaq - The Auto Episode Magazine

Even though the alterations appear minimal, a lot of work has gone into the Kodiaq's return in a brand-new avatar. The most significant improvement is the brand-new engine beneath the hood, which also receives some styling tweaks and function enhancements. The previous Kodiaq was notorious for giving luxury SUV buyers—more specifically, those trying to enter the luxury SUV segment—a little bit of a dilemma.

Only the Style model of the Kodiaq is offered, and it costs Rs. 34.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). Skoda chose to introduce just one fully loaded trim rather than a variety of engines and trims. According to Skoda, the majority of customers in this market niche choose the highest-specified model regardless.

The updated Kodiaq doesn't appear all that different from the original to inexperienced eyes. Although the striking front end and enormous road presence have been maintained, paying closer attention will reveal the tiny alterations. The headlamps have new LED DRLs with delicate detailing known as the "eyelashes" and are sleeker than before. As our car of the month the Skoda gives you everything, features, comfort and space.

The dash and door cushions are made of excellent materials that enhance the beauty of the cabin. The interior styling is the same as the Superb and the new Octavia, and it features plenty of chrome accents and polished black surfaces. The spacious centre console, a sizable touchscreen infotainment system, and the all-digital instrument cluster are eye-catching features.

Although the interior appears spacious at first, it is perfectly ergonomic, with ample of seat and steering wheel adjustment. With dual glove boxes, a sizable storage container under the front armrest, and equally useful door pockets, the Kodiaq performs well in terms of storage possibilities. The front seats are roomy and allow you to relax in them. There is good thigh support available because of their wide size. The nicest accommodations are without a doubt found in the rear seats, where there is plenty of shoulder and leg room.

The same 2-liter TSI turbocharged engine that we previously drove in the new VW Tiguan and the Octavia is now available in the Kodiaq. In this instance, it has a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and produces 187bhp and 320Nm. AWD, which is electronically controlled, distributes power to all four wheels.
