The Enforcement Directorate agency today arrested Naresh Goyal after hours of questioning under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in ED's Mumbai Office.
Naresh Goyal is expected to appear in a special court on Saturday where ED will ask for custodial remand.
ED has been probing Naresh Goyal for wrongful los charges to Canara Bank amounting to Rs. 539 crores. It is alleged, after a forensic audit that Jet Airways paid a total of Rs. 1,410 crores to related companies that helped in siphoning off the funds.
Also, it is alleged that the company paid for the Goyal family's personal staff salaries, phone bills, vehicle expenses among other expenses.
