‘After all this time?’ - “Always”

The 2022 could not have gone off to a better start than watching this iconic reunion where the ‘Harry Potter’ cast and filmmakers came together to celebrate success and relived the memories of creating the iconic franchise on its 20th anniversary. It was unrealisable for every potterhead that it’s been 20 years since the first wizarding world film came out, as Rupert Grint said “no time has passed and yet so much time has passed” knowing the fact that we still haven’t grown tired of repeatedly watching the Harry Potter universe.

There’s enough behind-the-scenes footage shown in the reunion from the sets that tells us how makers managed to magically bring JK Rowling’s writings to life. Behind-the-scenes of red carpets and even auditions that are a treasure trove of unforgettable memories and revelations made us feel so alive and closely bound to them.

Watching this reunion, with all the childhood nostalgia and euphoria unfurling itself in our minds, was like reliving that magic we witnessed long ago that eventually made us feel like - our childhood coming alive.

Daniel Radcliffe AKA Harry Potter

House : Gryffindor

‘The boy who lived”

The hero of the wizarding world, Harry Potter with a lightning- bolt-shaped scar on his forehead is the “boy who lived”. He grew up with muggles and then came to Hogwarts where he faced almost certain death in the struggle against the evil wizard who was the murderer of his parents. He along with his 2 companions and with the help of Hogwarts manages to destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes. At the end a climatic battle takes place between Harry and Voldemort where Harry vanquishes Voldemort.

Emma Watson AKA Hermione Jean Granger

House : Gryffindor

“It’s Leviosa, Not Leviosar!”

The brightest witch ever of her generation, Hermione without a big book under her arm is like an ocean without water. She has been characterised as a clever, principled and brilliant witch who frequently gets teased for being a muggle-born. We first met her on the journey from platform nine and three quarters (9 3⁄4) to Hogwarts. She, along with Ron later becomes one of Harry Potter’s closest friends. With a brilliant mind, she memorizes many, many spells and can reason her way through difficult situations that stump everyone else. Hermione excelled at most subjects and was a star pupil for most teachers, although Professor Snape used to call her a show-off. Without Hermione, Harry and Ron would not have figured out half of the mysteries they got caught up in.

Rupert Grint AKA Ronald Weasley

House : Gryffindor

“It's Me. I'm Extremely Famous."

Harry Potter’s best friend Ron Weasley with red hair is a perpetually confused yet ultimately brave character of a young boy; who fought against his fears, insecurities and inhibitions. He is considered one of the funniest characters in Harry Potter due to his ability to keep things lighthearted. From putting his life on the line several times for Harry to supporting him in the face of doubters, Ron showed us true traits of a best friend.

Tom Felton AKA Draco Malfoy

House : Slytherin

“Malfoy being Malfoy"

The only child of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, portrayed as a spoiled child, was a rival of Harry; who actively tried to undermine him in any way he could. He was pure- blooded according to the wizarding world. Draco thought he was better than all the rest and he openly behaved snobbish. His cruel and cold character got no sympathy until we got to know deep inside he was kind and exceptionally lonely.

Ralph Fiennes AKA Lord Voldemort

“He - who must not be named"

Tom Marvolo Riddle, later converted himself into Lord Voldemort was the half-blood orphan; who wanted to control the Wizarding world by manipulating the festering relationship between pureblood and Muggle-born wizards. He was an unusually brilliant wizard and of course later became to have been the most powerful and dangerous dark wizard of all time. He believed that “there is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it.” He created horcruxes in order to achieve immortality by splitting his soul into 7 pieces. Nevertheless, Voldemort was ripped from his body after attempting to kill Harry Potter and unconsciously made him the 8th horcrux of his life. There it all started between Harry and Dark lord however, in the end good manages to triumph over evil.

Gary Oldman AKA Sirius Black

“Who is that....?"

Sirius Black also known as Padfoot in his animagus form is one of the most complex characters in the Harry Potter series who was falsely accused of betrayal and murder and imprisoned in Azkaban. He was Harry Potter’s godfather. Although in the beginning he was portrayed as a murdering convict, broken free of Azkaban to attack and kill his godson “Harry”.

Toby Jones AKA Dobby - House Elf

“Bad Dobby! Bad Dobby!"

Dobby was a very interesting character and certainly made an impression within minutes. He was indeed a great elf not the bad one but he used to call himself bad whenever he assumed he did something wrong. Dobby was a house-elf for years indentured to the Malfoy family however, he wasn't ever on Lucius's side but protected Harry everytime he could.
