INDIAN AIR FORCE - SUPPORTING ARM

The CDS classified the air force as an "associate unit" in a statement on Friday. After that, the RKS Bhadauria chief of the Air Force said, "Vayushakti has an enormous role to play”.

General Rawat said,’’The Air Force needs to provide support to the ground forces and "don't forget that the Air Force remains a 'subsidiary arm of the armed forces. Indian Air Force should not have any objection to a single Air Defense Command. The security forces on the ground are expected to be supported by the Air Force’’.

On which, Air Force Chief Rakesh Bhadauria rejected the statement of CDS Bipin Rawat and reverted that the Indian Air Force is not the support arm of the Indian Army. The Indian Air Force minimises any kind of threat by going ahead of the Ground Forces. The Air Force does not support the ground but leads the forces.

Referring to the drone strike in Jammu, General Rawat reacted, "Ceasefire does not mean just stopping the fire between the adversaries along the Line of Control’'.

The country needs a different military command structure and a model paradigm to face emerging security threats like a 'grey zone' war. Now, India insisted that the region's April 2020 status quo be returned. Each side has approximately 50 to 60 thousand troops in the sensitive region, according to military authorities.
