Jammu and Kashmir hit by 5.4 magnitude earthquake; Tremors felt across North India



The National Centre for Seismology of India detected a 5.4-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of Katra in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the agency, the earthquake's epicentre was 84 kilometres (km) east-northeast (ENE) of Katra in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The earthquake occurred at 1:33 PM IST, 6 kilometres beneath the earth's surface.
