'Long discussions' with Putin over possible invasion of Ukraine: Biden

US President Biden said he would have a "long discussion" about Moscow's recent actions signaling its intention to invade Ukraine with Putin on Friday (local time). Earlier this month, US intelligence officials reportedly predicted that the Kremlin could launch a military offensive against Ukraine in 2022.

Biden told reporters as he left for a weekend trip to Camp David, "We've been aware of Russia's actions for years and my expectation is we're going to have a long discussion with Putin."

When asked about Putin’s warning that the US deploying countermeasures in Ukraine would represent a red line for the Kremlin, Biden said, "I don't accept anybody's red lines."

US intelligence recently estimated that Russia's potential military offensive would include 175,000 troops, with half of them already deployed near the Ukrainian border, Associated Press reported, citing a Biden administration official. Reports suggest that Russia's propaganda machinery has intensified its actions to denigrate Ukraine and NATO in advance of an invasion.

Biden stated earlier on Friday he was working with Europe to make it "very, very difficult" for Putin to launch an offensive against Ukraine.
