Bella Ciao - Goodbye beautiful
Ending a thrilling ride with money, the latest and the last volume of ‘La Casa De Papel’ promises paradise at the end of the road and that too with 90 tons of it.
Dead characters that could not be left behind
Berlin
While the common conception is that the show is about Professor, every fan of the show knows it is about Berlin. The ruthless, intelligent European gentleman - Professor’s brother, he is the one that has all the background in the story, dead in the Season 1’s end facilitating the exit for the crew, he is the one that set the plan in place. Palermo, the man in love with him; Tatiana - the ex-wife who left him for his son; Rafael - the MIT graduate son, who fell for his father’s wife, everything revolves around Berlin till such an extent that he is still a part of the show seasons and volumes later, reminiscing the past and giving context to the show.
Tokyo
Always the fan favourite, the logical, calculating criminal, who had an allure to her that put every man in the back seat died saving the team from Gandhia and the commandos smiling while the grenades blasted. Dead last volume, she narrated the show wherever needed and took part in flashbacks with the Professor. Loyalty and trust go hand in hand with her.
While it was one of the most anticipated shows, the fact that a lot of the events could be predicted cannot be unseen. While the show is outstanding, events have started repeating themselves. As soon as Alicia Sierra caught the Professor, we knew she would switch sides; we knew the professor is going in the bank to put the police on a spot; we knew the gold is not coming back; we knew the gold would be recovered; with the fake shots at the end of the countdown, we knew no one is dead but it would be a public disguise; we knew the papers to Denver would have an origami inside; most of it was predictable but it still took the audience on a wild ride. Even while knowing, it was fun to watch with the doubt always looming that it could go the other
While most of the audience would want more seasons, but the producers took the right decision of killing it in its full glory. With repetition of events and the predictability, the show was bound to lose its charm, so sending everyone to Portugal with 60 tons of gold and new identities to live happily ever after was a good decision. But lets actually hope that they do come back to rob the Spanish government again or even, any government works but come back anyway. Until then, Bella Ciao.
