Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi to be the new chief minister of Punjab. Congress party made the announcement just a day after Captain Amrinder Singh resigned from CM’s post. Channi will take the oath at 11 am on Monday. He is the first Dalit leader to be selected as chief minister of the state. Earlier, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was expected to be the new CM. On Saturday, Amrinder Singh stepped down as Punjab chief minister by saying that he felt "humiliated".
