Rahul Gandhi, a leader in the Congress and a returned Member of Parliament (MP), spoke before the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was criticised by Gandhi for allegedly "not listening to the voice of the people" over the situation in Manipur.
Gandhi claimed in front of the Parliament that PM Modi and the Centre are causing the nation to burn "like the arrogance of Ravana got Lanka burned" due to their conceit.
He claimed that Manipur was being divided by the PM Modi-led administration: "Our prime minister has not even been to Manipur once. Manipur is not India in his eyes. In Manipur, Mother India has passed away, he claimed.
