Scrubs for the face are a crucial part of any all-encompassing skincare routine. Dead skin cells collect dirt, oil, germs, and other irritants; facial washes help remove them. While regular exfoliation is necessary for healthy skin, using a face scrub sometimes can result in breakouts. This can be typical or it might be a recommendation to try a different product.

Although it can seem counterproductive, it's common and even beneficial when facial washes cause breakouts. Face scrubs help oil, dirt, germs, and other substances that were previously buried deep within pores to surface by exfoliating dead skin cells. The blemish that develops is the body's method of eliminating pollutants. It's typical for breakouts to appear two to four weeks after a mild cleanse.

Treat your breakout gently if you are aware that it is the result of a recent scrub. No need for harsh, excessively drying acne treatments. Impurities can be removed with twice-daily cleaning and a light non-comedogenic moisturiser.
