Abraham Lincoln was outfitted by Brooks Brothers in the
middle of the nineteenth century, and the company regarded
him as a devoted client. Abraham Lincoln wore a coat made
especially for him by Brooks Brothers at his second
inauguration. Winthrop Holly Brooks, the last member of the Brooks family to
lead the business, did so from 1935 until the company was sold
in 1946, at which point Julius Garfinckel & Co. bought it.
This month we've chosen Floral Plaid Jacquard Sheath Dress
as the dress of the month. This exquisite floral plaid sheath
gives sophistication with a menswear influence and a ladylike
twist.
This sleek silhouette is made from a luxurious stretch cottonwool blend of Italian jacquard and has a jewel neckline,
powerful shoulders, cap sleeves, and an empire waist.
