Mercedes' air suspension technology, variable damping, and
finally something termed a "E-ACTIVE" body control system
based on the onboard 48-volt electric system are among the
GLS 600's clever underpinnings. What really distinguishes this
Maybach variant from the "normal" GLS is the latter. The EACTIVE technology, which is based on the air suspension, can
individually manage the spring and damping forces at each
wheel to prevent rolling, pitching, and lifting motions.
The first-class levels of luxury in the back seat are sure to
pique the interest of anyone purchasing a GLS 600. In either
case, one could be in worse situations. The cabin makes the
most of the normal GLS's roomy interior space to provide a
lounge-like area for up to four passengers.
