Each manufacturer has a product that demonstrates their
engineering prowess. Toyota has the insane GT86, Audi has the
600+ horsepower R8, Honda has the new NSX. Nissan has a
product as well, and it's a rather unique one at that. It's the
Godzilla of automobiles, the GT-R. The legendary Nissan GT-R is a supercar with incredible
acceleration, but it has been in production for more than ten
years with minimal changes, and more coveted supercars are
now available at comparable prices. None of them, however,
provide the same level of performance or even the same
driving experience as the Nissan GT-R.
The GT-R's interior like the rest of the vehicle, is anything but
traditional. The Nissan's dashboard appears to have been lifted
directly from a teen's game console and is more reminiscent of
a technological marvel. A big screen that displays relevant data
readouts like power and torque output is located in the centre
console, which is packed with several buttons and dials.
Additionally, it contains a G-meter.
Moving on to the performance of the GT-R, which is the most
astounding feature. The car's reported acceleration time of 2.7
seconds to 100kmph is absurd considering the additional 1.7
tonnes of weight it must carry. A custom 3.8-liter twin-turbo
engine that was handcrafted and produces 542 horsepower
powers the GT-R. Even though this Nissan is loaded with
technologies and has a smart AWD system, it nevertheless feels
organic and well-connected.
