The updated Superb doesn't appear all that different from the original to inexperienced eyes. Although the striking front end and luxurious road presence have been maintained, paying closer attention will reveal the tiny alterations. The headlamps have new LED DRLs with delicate detailing known as the "eyelashes" and are sleeker than before. As our car of the month the Skoda gives you everything, features, comfort and space.
The dash and door cushions are made of excellent materials that enhance the beauty of the cabin. The interior styling is the same as the Kodiaq and the new Octavia, and it features plenty of chrome accents and polished black surfaces. The spacious centre console, a sizable touchscreen infotainment system, and the all-digital instrument cluster are eye-catching features.
With an increase of 10bhp and an amazing 70Nm over the previous engine, this one now produces 190bhp and 320Nm. The engine seems highly polished while trundling along at city speeds. The Superb responds admirably to mild throttle inputs and the DSG gearbox's superb calibration, making it easy to pass that irksome truck or rickshaw.
The Superb cannot stitch corners like an Octavia because of the soft setup, and there is some movement as they roll along, but the Superb is not intended to carve up corners in the first place. But if you keep your enthusiasm in check, the Superb does a great job of hiding its limousine-like dimensions. You may have the ideal ride around town.
