There will be no nonsense. When you get behind the wheel of
the GLE 63 S, you can tell it's an AMG right away. It travels
forward instantly when you press the throttle. The torque fill
or 250Nm of quick electric boost contributes to this. The V8
quickly overwhelms this little swell of torque with a gigantic
850Nm tsunami. A wide, three-spoke sports steering wheel with aluminium
paddle shifters is standard on both models, as are heated,
vented, and thickly bolstered AMG front sports seats in nappa
leather. The cabins are as roomy as you'd expect in an SUV, and
this is likely to be the most practical vehicle in your 50-crore
collection.
Someone we miss - Jaguar XJL
The Jaguar XJ L was a flagship luxury car that did not fit into
the stereotyped picture, and there were reasons for this. With
its low-slung style, it gave the impression of being introverted.
Its tastefully designed and exquisitely built rooms elicit
admiration from all. Even the most heinous critics have a hard
time finding something wrong with a Jaguar.
The 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine in the XJ L had been tweaked to
produce 296bhp and 700Nm of torque. It weighed just under
two tonnes and accelerated from zero to 100 kilometres per
hour in under 6.2 seconds. That's a really quick luxury
limousine.
