The 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC intercooler/turbocharged engine
from Mitsubishi, which powers the Lancer Evolution VI TME, has been modified and setup for maximum performance on the tarmac and features interior and exterior trim with a WRC theme. The Tommy Makinen Edition's performance was improved in a variety of ways.
 The low-end and mid-range torque of a high-response titanium turbocharger is increased by using a smaller, shape-optimized compressor wheel. A 2.0-liter, "4G63" inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 276 horsepower (206 kW/280 PS) provides the power. This is really an enthusiast's automobile because the five-speed manual transmission distributes that power to all four wheels.
 

Given that they both use the CT9A platform, the interior of the Evo 6 TME and the ordinary Evo 6 are practically identical. However, the TME is a little bit more unique due to a few more characteristics. On GSR, Recarro bucket seats with red fabric or EcsaineR suede upholstery and Tommi Makinen logo embroidery are standard. The dashboard has a black surface and red writing. Different colours are used on instrument dial faces. The gear lever, boot, and steering wheel trim of MOMO are all made of red-stitch leather.
 It's clear to say that the TME is a very special car, and the enhancements it received make it deserving of the moniker "The Evo 6.5" given to it by many admirers. Given the price of a conventional CT9A platform today and the fact that only 2500 of the TMEs were ever produced, it is a vehicle you should give serious thought to purchasing if you are a rally enthusiast or desire a vehicle that is both practical and very fun to drive.
