The Safari is no little car; it is 4,661 millimetres in length. It is
equipped with either a six-speed manual transmission or a sixspeed torque converter automatic transmission and is powered
by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that
generates 168 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.
There are other drive modes available, including Eco, City, and
Sport. The Safari responds most quickly and smoothly in Sport
mode. There is plenty of poke to pass safely at highway speeds,
and triple-digit cruising is simple. The Safari's suspension has
been modified by Tata Motors to make it more compliant than
the Harrier, and the vehicle is enjoyable to drive.
