It is perhaps one of the most famous songs in history with
lyrics composed by Don Henley and Glenn Frey and lyrics by
Don Felder. It is an unbeatable champion of a song with
evocative lyrics, social commentary, surrealistic
circumstances, and that ferocious guitar jam. Infact, there
aren't many songs whose lyrics have been analyzed over and
over again like Hotel California's.
Hotel California
From: Hotel California (1976)
Eagles is an American country rock and hard rock band formed
in Los Angeles, California in 1971 until 2016 when the band's
career ended with the death of one of the founders and their
lead singer Glenn Frey. Initially, their music was a mix of
country and bluegrass instrumentation with Californian surf
rock harmonies which resulted in soulful ballads and music
with touches of country and pop-rock.
Although The Eagles' Hotel California lasted six minutes, it
managed to reach #1 as a single from their self-titled album in
the same year of its release, 1976. It is estimated to have sold
more than 150 million copies and is played every 11 minutes
on American radio, according to one study.
